Developer Cold Symmetry released Mortal Shell 2 on August 20 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The studio issued Balance Patch 1 the same day, addressing a currency issue that had drawn player complaints. Patch 1 refunds any Glimpses spent on shell maps and changes the cost of shell maps to Gloom, the game's material for discovering locations. Gold drops from enemies have been increased, with double drops reported in the Mammon zone, allowing more frequent weapon upgrades. The update restores enemy health values to those present in the beta, including a general reduction of health for many bosses and enemies. Specific changes include a 10% reduction in base damage and 15% reduction in max health for the Lost Child, and a 19% damage cut and 10% health cut for the Monolith. Additional adjustments lower the cost of smelting weapons by 75% and reduce the price of Tarstones, while also fixing crashes, bugs and performance issues. The patch is now live on PC; console versions are expected to receive the update shortly.
