Company RIDI announced on Thursday that it will discontinue Kanta, its short‑form live‑action service in Japan, to concentrate resources on its fan community platform that supports comics, webtoons and web novels. Kanta launched in July 2025, offering dramas based on Korean content. The firm said it will use production expertise and user data from Kanta to expand its intellectual property portfolio and explore new ways to apply those assets.
