Sonova announced on August 24 the launch of its Phonak EON hearing aid platform, which employs real-time AI to separate speech from background noise.
The company introduced its first AI-powered hearing aid in 2024 and now adds the EON platform, a smaller and lighter device that claims to make speech twice as understandable while requiring less listening effort, according to Sonova.
Oliver Lux, president of Sonova's EMEA and Latin America regions, said adoption is expected to accelerate among replacement and new customers and that the platform supports the company's premium market positioning, though pricing details were not disclosed.
The U.S. launch will be followed by Australia and European markets including Germany, France, Italy and Britain in mid‑September, after which a broader global rollout will begin.
Lux said the company sees positive market dynamics, especially in Asia‑Pacific and Latin America, where it aims to expand volumes amid ageing populations under CEO Eric Bernard.
The rollout will start in the United States and expand to additional regions through September.
