Resident Evil will be shown in theaters with a themed popcorn bucket offered at Regal locations. The bucket, modeled after an organ‑transport bag featured in the film, can hold a large portion of popcorn and does not contain a beating heart as shown in promotional material. Regal announced the offering on its official Twitter account on September 1, the same day tickets went on sale. A $5 ticket option is available to T‑Mobile subscribers. The movie, directed by Zach Cregger and co‑written with Shay Hatten, stars Austin Abrams, Zach Cherry, Paul Walter Hauser, Kali Reis and Johnno Wilson. It is scheduled to open on September 18 and is projected to have the largest opening in the franchise’s history. Pricing for the popcorn bucket has not been disclosed. The availability and cost of the bucket remain undetermined, and the film’s opening performance is awaited.
