OpenAI has begun distributing an update to ChatGPT that lets the chatbot generate responses combining text with diagrams, charts, forms and tappable buttons.

The feature, called Intelligent UI, is being rolled out alongside the GPT-6 model family. According to a blog post from the company, GPT-6 was trained to decide when to produce interactive visuals and how to format them within a reply. An illustration shared by OpenAI demonstrates the capability: when asked about the design of a seven-speed bicycle, ChatGPT displays a diagram with labeled components that can be selected for further detail.

Another example shows the bot teaching Mahjong by presenting tiles in scrollable categories. The update also enables ChatGPT to create tools such as retirement calculators, retro game interfaces or bill-splitting utilities directly within its response.

OpenAI introduced its first GPT-6 models last month. The new Intelligent UI builds on that release, adding the Sol and Luna variants to the ChatGPT interface. In addition to visual generation, GPT-6 is reported to improve web search performance and deliver partial answers more quickly while additional information is gathered.

The company also noted that GPT-6 shows greater resilience to attempts to override its safety protocols. OpenAI states that the Intelligent UI update will be accessible to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise subscribers immediately, with broader availability to Go and free-tier users expected later this week. Higher-tier users will receive access to the mid-tier GPT-6 Sol model, while Go and free users will be limited to the more lightweight GPT-6 Luna variant.
