EA and Battlefield Studios announced that the upcoming Season 5 update for Battlefield 6 will add a full server browser, a feature long requested by the community. The studio noted that while the original launch included a server browser, it was limited to Portal mode and did not meet player expectations. A producer acknowledged the disparity between fan demand and the initial implementation.

The new server browser will allow players to host their own servers and customize settings such as map rotation and game rules. This functionality mirrors the server browsers found in earlier Battlefield titles, which were praised for letting players select specific maps and modes.

Season 5 will roll out in phases beginning with Siege of Las Vegas on October 13. The update introduces two new maps: Vegas Strip and Area 51. For the battle royale mode RedSec, a variant called Rapid Royale will debut, featuring shorter rounds and reduced player counts.

From October 20 to November 7, a Halloween event will take place, offering a limited-time scenario set beneath Area 51. The scenario, described as non-canon, incorporates themes from the Dead Space series and includes alien-related elements. Cosmetic items tied to the Dead Space franchise will also be available during this period.

The second phase, titled Casino Heist, begins on November 10 and adds a new map called European Casino. The final phase, Frozen Aces, launches on December 8 and introduces cold weather environments across the Vegas Strip and Area 51. The full server browser will become available during this phase.

According to internal sales data, Battlefield 6 was the top-selling game in the United States for 2025, surpassing Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 in domestic revenue.
