The 2024 Harvey Awards announced Billy Bat as the winner for Best Manga, presented by Abrams ComicArts' Kana imprint. The award recognized the series' creative team of Naoki Urasawa and Takashi Nagasaki, with Kristi Iwashiro handling translation. The announcement came Friday at New York Comic Con.

Other nominees in the category included Yoshiharu Tsuge's He Rolled Me Up Like a Grilled Squid (Drawn & Quarterly, translated by Ryan Holmberg), Kazumi Yamashita's Land (Yen Press, translated by Kevin Gifford), Fumiko Takano's Miss Ruki (New York Review Comics, translated by Alexa Frank), Ichiro Iijima's My Gorilla Family (Living the Line, translated by Ryan Holmberg), and Rintarō's My Life in 24 Frames per Second (Kana/Abrams ComicArts, translated by Montana Kane).

The awards also honored works in Best Adaptation from Comic Book/Graphic Novel, where Spider-Noir secured the prize. Previous nominees in that category included Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle - Akaza Sairai, My Hero Academia — Final Season, and One Piece: Into the Grand Line live-action season.

The addition of Best Manga as a dedicated category began in 2018. Kabi Nagata's My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness claimed the inaugural award, followed by Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia (2019), Kamome Shirahama's Witch Hat Atelier (2020), Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man (2021-2023), and Ryōko Kui's Delicious in Dungeon (2024). Prior to 2018, manga titles competed within the now-defunct Best American Edition of Foreign Material category, last won by Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan in 2014.

The Harvey Awards distinguish themselves through professional nomination and selection processes, unlike industry peers such as the Eisner Awards. The 2024 ceremony highlighted the growing recognition of international comics within North American awards frameworks.
