Amazon is selling Microsoft's Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Controller for $109.99 with free shipping, a discount from its typical $150 price elsewhere. The Core model matches the physical design of the previous generation Elite Series 2 controller and includes adjustable-tension thumbsticks, a wrap-around rubberized grip, and shorter hair trigger locks. Unlike the full Elite Series 2 package, which includes extra paddles, thumbsticks, a D-pad, and a travel case, the Core version ships without these accessories; they can be purchased separately as a component pack for $59.99. The discount follows rumors of an upcoming Elite Series 3 launch, though no official release details have been confirmed. IGN's Jacqueline Thomas noted that the Series 3's launch price is expected to be comparable to or higher than the Series 2's initial $179.99 price point.
