Circle announced that its Payments Network (CPN) received a bronze award in the Payments category at the Money20/20 Money Awards. The company said more than 175 financial institutions are supporting CPN, a figure that reflects enrollment rather than active payment processing. Earlier disclosures had listed 175 enrolled institutions, up 29% from the prior quarter, and the award announcement highlighted these partners as contributors to building a global payments network. Circle did not specify how many of the enrolled firms were actively routing transactions on Oct. 19. The network reported $14.7 billion in annualized transaction volume at the end of Q2 2026, a measure that expresses the payment pace over the trailing 30 days on a yearly basis rather than total quarterly volume. CPN Managed Payments, launched in April, enables banks and fintechs to use stablecoin settlement without handling digital assets directly, with Circle managing USDC minting, compliance and blockchain infrastructure. Visa and Mesh announced plans to let consumers spend stablecoin and crypto balances at merchants via Visa’s network of over 175 million locations, while Mastercard introduced a stablecoin risk‑screening service that evaluates fraud, sanctions and other risk indicators before a payment is completed. The award post credited the 175+ institutions and the Circle payments team for building the network.
