Kōta Nomura and Juri Kōsaka have been cast as leads in the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Mizuki Hoshino's Fukakōryoku no I Love You, scheduled to open in Japan on March 5, 2027. Shochiku announced the production on Tuesday, revealing that Nomura will portray Saku Wataya and Kōsaka will play Sena Kodama. Yuka Yasukawa, known for directing live-action adaptations of My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999 and Akasaka season 2, will direct the project, with Haruka Ōkita writing the screenplay. Yoshitaka Fujimoto is handling music composition. The film is based on Hoshino's manga, which follows first-year high school student Sena Kodama as she attempts to suppress her feelings for senior and school heartthrob Wataya, only to find herself repeatedly drawn into tentative romantic encounters with him. Hoshino launched the series in Shueisha's Margaret magazine in August 2023, with the ninth compiled volume released on June 25 of that year. The manga's predecessor, Tiger & Dragon, concluded with its fourth volume in April 2023 after serialization began in February 2022. Seven Seas has published all four volumes of Tiger & Dragon in English translation. The production is credited to the Fukakōryoku no I Love You film committee and Shueisha, with copyright held by Mizuki Hoshino and Shueisha.
