Drone strikes killed three people and wounded five in the Moscow region on Monday, according to the regional governor.
The strikes occurred in Pionersky, Istra, where three were killed and three more wounded after a drone fell, and in another part of the region where two additional people were injured. Air defence units intercepted 81 drones over the area, the governor said.
A separate attack in the southern Stavropol region caused a fire at an industrial zone in Vyazniki, Shpakovsky district, but no casualties were reported, the local governor added.
Ukraine has increased drone strikes against Russian energy targets, which it says constitute retaliation for Russia's long‑term bombardment of Ukrainian territory. Western allies are convening in Paris on Monday to discuss ways to pressure Russia to end the war, though US‑led diplomatic efforts have stalled in recent months as focus shifts to tensions with Iran.
The drone threat remains active across the region, officials said.
