Andrew and Tristan Tate, dual US‑UK nationals, were arrested in Miami, Florida, on Sunday after a sealed warrant was executed by the United States Marshals Service. The United Kingdom government has requested their extradition to face rape and sex‑trafficking charges. The Crown Prosecution Service announced that Andrew Tate, 39, will be prosecuted on seven counts of rape, three counts of sex trafficking, three counts of assault, and 19 additional charges related to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography. Tristan Tate, 38, faces one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, the CPS said. The brothers are also under investigation in the United Kingdom for 21 charges that include rape, human trafficking and actual bodily harm involving three alleged victims. Their attorney, Joseph McBride, said they are confident the charges will not result in conviction, stating that a competent judge will see the facts and the Department of Justice will confront its own authority. The alleged offenses span from July 2010 to August 2017 and bring the total number of alleged victims to seven, according to the CPS. The brothers fled Romania after being arrested there in 2022, where they also face separate rape and human‑trafficking charges. Both men deny the allegations. The case is expected to proceed through the US extradition process, with a decision pending.
