At San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, Prime Video debuted the first teaser for its upcoming ten‑episode series Blade Runner 2099, set 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049 and scheduled for a November 25, 2026 premiere. The series is a spinoff of Ridley Scott’s 1982 film and its 2017 sequel, announced nearly five years ago, and aims to explore a future in which humans have become second‑class citizens after an uprising. Michelle Yeoh stars as Olwen, a dying Replicant, opposite Hunter Schafer as Cora, a fugitive Blade Runner, while supporting cast members include Hugo Hamlet, Dmitri Abold, Lewis Gribben and others in undisclosed roles; showrunner Silka Luisa said the show retains the original’s noir principles and centers on a mystery that spans forward and backward in the franchise’s mythology. The event also featured a teaser for the third season of Prime Video’s Rings of Power, which will depict Sauron forging the One Ring, a new Lanterns trailer for HBO Max, and a Spaceballs: The New One panel that announced the film’s April 23, 2027 theatrical release.
