Best Buy is offering Asus ROG Xbox Ally handheld gaming PCs for $497.99 with free shipping, a discount of roughly $100 from the original retail price. The devices, introduced in October 2025, feature an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 512 GB SSD. They run Windows 11 and launch directly into the Xbox app, aiming to reduce background resource use. The non‑X model uses the same processor as the Steam Deck’s APU, while the higher‑end Xbox Ally X includes a Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip, 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Best Buy also lists preowned Xbox Ally X units for as low as $838.99, down from $1,000, with a 15‑day return policy. IGN senior writer Jackie Thomas noted that the Xbox Ally provides a comparable experience to the Steam Deck at a lower price, though performance may vary for more demanding titles. Pricing and availability may vary as retailers adjust offers.
