Ubisoft announced that Xbox owners of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Far Cry 6, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Riders Republic, Skull and Bones, The Crew 2, The Crew Motorfest, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will receive free PC versions of those titles through Ubisoft Connect by August 4. The games will appear in the Ubisoft Connect library for users whose Xbox and PC accounts are linked.
The announcement expands the existing partnership between Ubisoft and Microsoft, which previously made backward‑compatible Xbox titles available on PC and has been integrating more of its catalog into the PC ecosystem. Xbox has also added premium editions of several Ubisoft games, including Assassin’s Creed Shadows, to its PC app.
Users who purchase any of the listed games on Xbox after the promotion will automatically gain access to the PC version, but the reverse is not true; a PC purchase does not grant Xbox access. The free offer applies only to owners of the specified titles and requires linking accounts before the deadline. Microsoft has indicated that it may enable digitization of physical game libraries on PC in the future, a feature that could support the upcoming next‑generation Xbox console, which is expected to have a more PC‑like architecture.
The move reflects Xbox’s ongoing effort to broaden its PC presence, though the long‑term impact on the console market remains uncertain.
