Rumors circulate about potential casting for the next James Bond film, with actor Jack Lowden mentioned as a possible candidate.
The role of James Bond has been vacant since Daniel Craig concluded his five‑film tenure with No Time To Die in 2021. Amazon MGM Studios, which acquired the franchise, said in May that the search for a successor was underway and declined to comment on casting details.
Lowden, 36, is known for his performance as T.E. Lawrence in the video game Battlefield 1 and for television roles including River in Slow Horses, Mr. Darcy in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, and a cameo as Forodwaith Sauron in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. He also appeared in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk and voiced Gunnar in the 2024 Rogue Trooper film. On his podcast The Rest Is Entertainment, TV presenter Richard Osman said a source told him Lowden was 'definitely' in the running, though no official confirmation has been provided.
Other actors reported to be in consideration include Callum Turner, Aaron Taylor‑Johnson, Jacob Elordi, Theo James, Tom Francis and Josh O'Connor.
The next Bond film is slated for direction by Denis Villeneuve, the Oscar‑nominated filmmaker behind the Dune series and recent works such as Prisoners, Sicario, Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival. Fans have waited since the 2021 release of No Time To Die, which experienced multiple delays partly due to the COVID‑19 pandemic.
