RacketCon 2026 registration opened this week, with discounted early registration available through September 13. The conference will take place Saturday and Sunday, with sessions running from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time each day.

Doors open Saturday at 8:30 a.m. PDT, followed by a keynote from Pat Hanrahan at 9:00 a.m. Hanrahan, a Canon Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Emeritus at Stanford University, led the design of Pixar's RenderMan and co-founded Tableau. He received the 2019 ACM Turing Award for contributions to computer graphics.

The Saturday schedule includes a break at 10:00 a.m., followed by a presentation by Fred Fu at 10:30 a.m. titled "Type Inference With Logical Types For Untyped Languages." Fu, a PhD candidate at Indiana University, is researching improvements to Typed Racket's type system, specifically addressing challenges with macro-generated code and lambda parameters. His prototype combines occurrence typing and algebraic subtyping to handle patterns common in Racket programs.

Lucas Myers will present "Language-Oriented Low-Level Programming with Pille" at 11:10 a.m. Pille, a new language built on Rhombus, aims to bring language-oriented programming to low-level domains like microcontroller development. Myers, a PhD student at Northwestern University advised by Robby Findler, focuses on adapting extensible programming languages for systems programming.

Lunch is provided Saturday at 1:30 p.m., followed by Mike Delmonaco's talk "Treason: Making Macros and IDE Services Work Together" at 2:10 p.m. Delmonaco, a software engineer at Amazon Web Services, is exploring ways to maintain IDE functionality during incomplete macro expansion through spec-driven subexpression expansion.

Pavel Panchekha will discuss "Herbie: Improving Floating-point Accuracy" at 2:50 p.m. Herbie is a compiler that enhances floating-point precision by analyzing mathematical expressions. Panchekha, an associate professor at the University of Utah and Herbie developer, will explain its methodology and decade-long development.

JJ will present "Effect Handlers in cio" at 3:30 p.m., examining effect handlers as a mechanism for non-local control flow. JJ, a linguist and programming languages enthusiast based in Vancouver, will discuss implementation strategies and limitations of library-level effect handler libraries.

Ryan Culpepper will present "BrandX: Commoditizing OOP with Interfaces, Generics, and Contracts" at 4:10 p.m. BrandX is a new Racket library for object-oriented programming using interfaces and generic functions with contract support. Culpepper, a Racket developer focused on macros and library design, will outline the library's architecture and implementation approaches.

The conference concludes Sunday with additional sessions. Sam Phillips will present "Uke: Immutable Dataframes for Racket" at 9:00 a.m., describing Uke as an opinionated immutable dataframe library. Matthew Flatt will discuss "A New Foreign-Function Interface: ffi2" at 9:40 a.m., detailing improvements to Racket's FFI that combine convenience with performance.

A town hall session at 11:30 a.m. will provide an open forum for attendees to raise questions and discussion topics. Recordings of all presentations will be published on YouTube after the conference, and streaming attendees may purchase remote participation tickets to support the livestream.

RacketCon emphasizes community building through accessible content and inclusive programming, with past events drawing participants from both the Racket ecosystem and broader software development fields.
