A recent PassMark benchmark has measured the performance of Intel's Core 5 205H processor, revealing a notable speed advantage over the Core i5 13420H. The test shows the Core 5 205H achieving a multi-core score of 19,390 points, which is 15.7% higher than the 16,751 points recorded by the Core i5 13420H. In single-core performance, the Core 5 205H scored 3,699 points, about 10.5% above the i5 13420H's result. Both chips share an identical core configuration of eight physical cores and twelve threads, operate within the same 45-watt thermal design power range, and are built using the same manufacturing process. The Core 5 205H can reach a maximum turbo frequency of 4.8 gigahertz, slightly higher than the i5 13420H's 4.6 gigahertz limit. Despite lacking integrated graphics, the processor is expected to be paired with discrete graphics solutions in most implementations. The benchmark data was first reported by a PassMark user identified as @x86deadandback, who highlighted the results on the testing platform.
