A developer known as 0xProbability demonstrated a Minecraft interface loading within a modified version of Grand Theft Auto V that runs natively on an iPhone. The test, conducted using the Claude Opus 5.5 AI system, showed the Minecraft heads-up display and a character named Steve appearing inside the game environment. No interaction with the physical device occurred during the demonstration.
The underlying modification was originally created by C22, a student at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. C22 adapted a browser-based version of Grand Theft Auto V to function as a native iOS application, enabling it to operate on Apple silicon devices. The project supports multiplayer functionality and requires iOS 15 or later, with compatibility extending to macOS 14 on Apple silicon processors. Performance benchmarks indicate the application can achieve 50 to 60 frames per second on an iPhone 17 while consuming approximately 1.1 gigabytes of memory.
The README file associated with the project specifies the technical requirements and performance metrics. The demonstration was shared publicly through a video posted on the social media platform X, where C22 detailed the architecture and capabilities of the port.
