Crunchyroll said it will stream the television anime adaptation of Takeru Hokazono's Kagurabachi manga beginning in April 2027, worldwide except Japan, Mainland China, North Korea and South Korea. The announcement also revealed that Katsuyuki Konishi will portray the character Togo Shiba.

The manga series, created by Takeru Hokazono, began serialization in September 2023 in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. The 11th compiled volume was published in Japan on May 1, and the series had 2.2 million copies in circulation as of May 2025, with a total of 4 million copies in circulation worldwide. The story follows young Chihiro Rokuhira, trained by his swordsmith father, who seeks to become a great sword‑maker after a fatal incident.

Crunchyroll said the anime will be produced by Cypic, under the direction of Tetsuya Takeuchi, who previously served as key animator on Naruto and Naruto Shippūden and directed From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad's Been Reincarnated! The character designs are handled by Keigo Sasaki, known for Blue Exorcist and Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray. The production committee includes Shochiku and CyberAgent, and the anime division Cygames Pictures was established in April 2016. The series will debut in April 2027, with the first 20 minutes presented at a world tour event that begins in July at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, followed by stops at Japan Expo Paris, ANImagic in Mannheim, Germany, and Anime NYC in August. A full screening of the first episode is scheduled for spring 2027 in Japan.

Viz Media's Shonen Jump service and Shueisha's MANGA Plus are releasing the Kagurabachi manga in English digitally. The manga topped the print category of the Next Manga Awards 2024 and was nominated for the 70th Shogakukan Manga Awards in December 2024 and the 49th Kodansha Manga Awards in April 2025. It also received nominations for the 2025 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards and ranked 13th in Da Vinci's January 2025 top manga list. The seventh print volume was released on May 5.

Crunchyroll said the launch is expected to increase the series' visibility outside Asia, and the full first episode will be screened in Japan in spring 2027.
