Lizzy Caplan, known for her roles in Masters of Sex, Mean Girls, and the Now You See Me series, has been cast in the upcoming FX and Hulu Far Cry anthology series, becoming the second confirmed cast member after Rob Mac of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Rob Mac, who also serves as an executive producer, will star in the series. Noah Hawley, creator of Alien Earth and Fargo, is the showrunner and executive producer. Caplan has received Emmy nominations for her work on Masters of Sex and Fleishman Is in Trouble and has appeared in The Interview, a film that generated controversy. Hawley previously noted that the gameplay structure of video games, including skippable cutscenes, may not translate well to a television narrative, stating his aim is to engage with the franchise without adapting any specific game. The series will feature a new cast and setting each season, similar to anthology series such as True Detective and The White Lotus. No release date or detailed plot has been announced.
