Capcom announced a new game overview trailer on Thursday, which shows gameplay footage of the boss battle against Dohatsu-ten in Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

The trailer is part of a promotional push for the title, scheduled for release on September 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch.

The Onimusha series launched in 2001 and blends Sengoku-era action with supernatural elements.

A remaster of Onimusha: Warlords was released in January 2019.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny originally launched for PlayStation 2 in Japan in March 2002, North America in August 2002 and Europe in October 2002.

Capcom released a remastered version of Onimusha 2 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC in May 2025.

An anime based on the franchise debuted worldwide on Netflix in November 2023, directed by Shin'ya Sugai with supervising direction by Takashi Miike.

The game's release on September 25 marks the franchise's return after a five-year gap.
