Sunrise's television anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi's MAO manga announced additional voice cast members for the second part on June 25. The anime premiered on April 4 on NHK‑General and began its two‑cour run without a break. The second cour will start with episode 14 on July 4. The series is streamed in the United States on Hulu and in Canada, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand on Disney+. The newly announced cast includes Takuya Satō as Hakubi, an onmyōji of metal and former disciple of MAO; Rie Kugimiya as Natsuno, an onmyōji of earth and former disciple; Katsuyuki Konishi as Daigo, an onmyōji of earth and former disciple; Tasuku Kaito as Soma Kagami, the second son of the Kagami family; and Shino Shimoji as Kagari Hosho, the daughter of the Kagami family. A new visual of Yurako, voiced by Reina Ueda, was also revealed. The clean version of the second half's opening credit sequence, featuring the theme song "Bokura ga Uwagaki suru Sekai" performed by the boy group 20th Century, was streamed. The staff includes director Teruo Sato, series script supervisor Yūko Kakihara, character designer and chief animation director Yoshihito Hishinuma, and music by Shū Kanematsu. The series, which adapts a supernatural adventure manga that began in May 2019 and has reached its 29th volume, will continue airing without interruption.
