The first expansion for Crimson Desert was announced during a September State of Play event with a planned October 15 release. Developer Pearl Abyss confirmed the launch will be pushed back by two weeks to October 29 to ensure a more polished and stable experience. The delay brings the DLC within two months of the game's March 19 debut. Initial reception to Crimson Desert was mixed, but ongoing updates have addressed many early issues, contributing to its emergence as a notable title this year. The expansion introduces a new zone and adds sea exploration mechanics alongside enhanced base-building features, including the ability to construct new structures. The $24.99 DLC will launch simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. A teaser tweet from the official Crimson Desert account confirmed the update on September 30, 2026.
