Actor Ben McKenzie, known for roles in The O.C. and Gotham, is producing a documentary titled Everyone Is Lying to You for Money that examines the cryptocurrency market.

The film follows McKenzie’s effort to understand why investors continue to allocate money to digital assets despite regulatory uncertainty. In an interview on the More To The Story podcast, he described the investment climate as resembling a cult‑like phenomenon and said he interviewed Sam Bankman‑Fried shortly before the former FTX CEO’s arrest.

McKenzie also spoke with individuals who reported losing savings after investing in crypto and said they remain convinced of its potential. He noted that his documentary seeks to present these perspectives without endorsing any particular viewpoint.
