Anthropic has signed a six‑year agreement to rent roughly $45 billion in AI compute capacity from Nscale, a British AI infrastructure company, according to a source familiar with the deal. The arrangement will provide compute via Nvidia’s Vera Rubin chip system and is expected to begin powering Anthropic’s services in late 2027.

Nscale, founded in 2024, has already secured contracts with Microsoft and will host the capacity in its flagship data center in West Virginia, Bloomberg reported. The deal spans six years.

The agreement follows a series of compute partnerships for Anthropic, including a $10 billion deal with AI cloud startup Volta in Norway, a $5 billion agreement with AMD, a monthly $1.25 billion capacity arrangement with SpaceX, and expansions with Amazon, Google, and Broadcom.
