Blue Canyon Technologies Unveils FleXbus Spacecraft Subsystem

LAFAYETTE, Colo. (Aug. 26, 2026) — Blue Canyon Technologies, a subsidiary of RTX, announced that it had unveiled the FleXbus spacecraft subsystem, a mission‑ready kit of components designed to simplify integration for satellite developers.

The system bundles Blue Canyon’s FleXcore guidance, navigation and control subsystem with an avionics computer, command and data handling unit, GNC algorithms, sensors, actuators, a power system controller, batteries, payload interfaces and flight software. Optional elements such as solar array drives, solar arrays, hinge mechanisms and select radio and propulsion solutions are also available.

“With the FleXbus mission enabler, customers can integrate Blue Canyon’s components into their own space vehicle, leveraging our proven heritage within their own facilities,” said Chris Winslett, general manager of Blue Canyon Technologies. “FleXbus expands on our reliable FleXcore guidance, navigation and control system by including additional components in a platform that offers an integrated approach to total spacecraft bus functionality.”

Blue Canyon Technologies, which supports more than 160 spacecraft orders, provides a portfolio of affordable and reliable spacecraft components for the emerging space economy. RTX, the parent company, employs over 180,000 people worldwide and reported sales of more than $88 billion in 2025.

The FleXbus is intended to let customers accelerate launch schedules, focus on mission‑specific engineering and gain hands‑on integration experience, potentially enabling a broader range of space missions.
