Konami intends to issue a new Silent Hill game each year, according to producer Motoi Okamoto, who made the remarks during an interview at Gamescom 2026.

The Silent Hill series, originally set in the United States, has seen recent titles such as the Silent Hill 2 remake and the upcoming Silent Hill: Townfall scheduled for release on September 22, as well as Silent Hill f, which shifts the setting to 1960s Japan.

Okamoto said that the company wants to keep the franchise from becoming repetitive by pursuing varied narrative approaches and by developing several unannounced projects at present.

He noted that staying focused on a single American setting could limit storytelling possibilities and risk player fatigue.

Konami president Hideki Hayakawa previously stated that the company is investing in rebooting its flagship intellectual properties, including Silent Hill, Metal Gear, and Castlevania, to extend their commercial relevance across multiple platforms.

The company has not disclosed timelines or details for the unannounced Silent Hill titles, leaving the cadence of future releases uncertain.
