The Meteosat Third Generation-Imager 2 (MTG-I2) satellite is scheduled for launch on 27 August 2026 at 22:10 CEST (17:10 local time) from the European Space Agency’s launch site in French Guiana aboard an Ariane 6 rocket. The mission forms part of Eumetsat’s MTG constellation, which already includes two operational satellites. MTG-I2 will deliver high‑resolution imagery for European weather forecasting, improving short‑term predictions of severe weather events and providing new data products for national meteorological services. Lift‑off is planned for the specified date and time.
