Nebula Sans, a new sans-serif typeface developed for streaming service Nebula, is available under the SIL Open Font License. The font is based on Source Sans by Paul D. Hunt and is intended as a drop-in alternative to Whitney SSm. It includes two styles and six weights, supporting use in interfaces, print, and other graphical applications. Nebula said the typeface was created to reduce licensing costs and enable customization. The design matches Whitney SSm characteristics to improve legibility. Stylistic alternates such as single-storey a, open g, and tailed l are included, along with tabular lining figures. A short documentary on the typeface creation was released.
