Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, a first‑person shooter inspired by Portal and Halo, was released in December 2025 after earlier beta testing, and included a 60‑player battle‑royale mode and a map‑creation tool called the Lab. The original Splitgate had its servers shut down in August 2025, after which it also switched to peer‑to‑peer multiplayer.

The developer said the decision was driven by insufficient revenue to cover server costs, making continued operation unsustainable. In a statement posted on X, the team explained that they had kept the servers running to give the games a chance to grow, but that the financial model could no longer be maintained. Neither game will be discontinued; instead, they will rely on peer‑to‑peer connections, meaning matches will be found only when other players host games. Empulse, a 6‑player Titanfall‑style shooter, will receive one final update that adds a new map and reduces its price across regions before the server shutdown.

The move mirrors the earlier shutdown of the original Splitgate’s dedicated servers, and it remains unclear how many players will continue to host matches once the September 3 deadline passes.
